I have long been a student and teacher of the essential Unity of all things. Oneness is central to my personal spiritual philosophy, and has been the subject of a great deal of study over the past two decades.

For some reason, I had been unaware of this book by one of our country's most influential spiritual leaders. I had read two or three other of Goldsmith's works, and found them fascinating and deep but not quite on target for my specific interests. I suppose it's possible that I was not supposed to encounter this text until I had more grounding and depth in my own personal study. Now that I have devoured it, I must say it is one of the most cogent and practical books about its main topic that I have read or even read about.

Goldsmith focuses his attention primarily on the process of awakening to – or realizing – Oneness rather than on the more philosophical underpinnings behind the very concept. As a result, this book is a really interesting handbook for spiritual seekers interested in not just reading about Oneness, but actually experiencing it. I know of only one other book with a similar purpose, and that is Working With Oneness by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. The latter is a Sufi master, so he approaches the subject from a more experiential engagement perspective, while Goldsmith offers fairly practical advice about attitude and behavior, as well as spiritual practice, that lead to the reunification with All That Is. The two books are quite complementary.

I found Goldsmith eminently readable. This was, frankly, somewhat surprising because when I read his seminal work, The Infinite Way, some years ago, I found the sledding tough at many points. There was virtually none of that academic and rather dry writing in this particular book.

I will be recommending this book to all of my spiritual students for many years to come.

An awesome book by a famous metaphysician who healed thousands and taught a classic form of metaphysics based on scriptural interpretation.
I've read ALL Joel's books. And what did I get out of doing that? You might be tempted to get a "teaching" or a "doctrine" out of these books...but that would spell disaster. After reading them, somewhere along the way I received a sense of God's allness, presence, oneness, non-duality that has never gone away. Like one of his books is entitled, "Beyond Words and Thoughts."
